A MOTION FROM THE MEMBERS TO SUSPEND THE GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS FOR JUNE, JULY, AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER 2012 WILL BE PROCESSED AND VOTED DURING THIS MONTH'S MEETING.

• Labor's Tranining and Community Development Alliance - For high school seniors who are children of members in good standing with their Local Union. Deadline to turn in application: NO LATER THAN 4:00 P.M. on TUESDAY, JANUARY 31, 2012.
   
   
• James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund - For high school seniors sons, daughters or grandchildren of an active, retired, disabled, deceased or laid off Teamster member who has or had at least twelve months of consecutive membership in good standing in the Teamsters Union. Deadline to turn in application: March 31, 2012.

November 19, 2011 was a great day to be a Member of Teamsters Local 542 in Imperial County. Teamsters Local 542 celebrated its annual Imperial County Teamsters Picnic at Crummet Park in Calexico, CA.

Members of Teamsters Local 542 from all over Imperial County enjoyed great food, entertainment and raffles. The Food from Famous Dave's was mouth watering and satisfied everybody in attendance. Over 800 Teamster Members and their families enjoyed a great day with fellow Brothers and Sisters from all different represented crafts. The raffles alone were reason enough to stay and continue enjoying great camaraderie awaiting to see if they would win the main raffle, a 55" HDTV.
